Putting the FEAST in SeaFeast

While Bellingham SeaFeast honors maritime culture and our thriving working waterfront, we are a FEAST of the SEA and that means: SEAFOOD! What local seaside festival would be complete without celebrating the culinary bounty of the Pacific Northwest? Take your foodie adventures to the next level on the shores of Bellingham Bay and experience the great tastes our seafood partners have to offer September 21 & 22 for our annual celebration at Bellingham SeaFeast!

Taste the Sea

A SeaFeast favorite, Taste the Sea presented by Haggen Northwest Fresh is back for its third year of mouth-watering cuisine. Attendees who purchase tickets for this exclusive, hour-long tasting gain access to live prep from chefs and vendors while enjoying wine sample pairings. Everyone raves this is a highlight of the weekend, don’t wait to get your ticket!

Anthony’s Restaurants has two locations along Bellingham’s waterfront. Anthony’s at Squalicum Harbor offers fine dining without the dress code, and meals from fresh oysters to steak. The menu offers an abundance of seafood options, like the Pan Fried Willapa Bay Oysters, Dungeness Crab Cakes (THE BEST!), or Wild Alaska Silver Salmon.

Anthony’s Hearthfire Grill offers the same quality meals with a slightly lower price. The menu changes with the seasons, so the freshest seafood is always available.

With 21 casual seafood bars and three restaurants, Ivar’s is the Northwest go-to for Fish n’ Chips. A grey PNW day is always warmer with their chowder, and crispy fries and fish are the perfect accompaniment to a PNW summer evening. Bellingham’s Bellis Fair Mall has an Ivar’s Seafood Bar where our volunteers can enjoy a free cup of chowder!

Rub with Love

Looking for a new way to add a burst of flavor to your grilled seafood? Tom Douglas Rub with Love is celebrating 20 years of delicious recipes in 2019! There’s a rub for everything, from salmon to ribs to vegetables. Seattle-based chef Tom Douglas started selling the rubs after repeatedly being asked what was in his salmon rub. The selection has since expanded to include flavors like Chinese 12 Spice, Exotic Mushroom, Smoky Barbecue, and a rub for almost any kind of seafood or meat. Best part? It takes about 20 seconds to prep your salmon for the grill. Don’t miss Rub with Love in action during the Skill of the Grill noon on Sunday, Sept 22 at Bellingham SeaFeast!

Bristol Bay Sockeye

What do you put that Rub with Love on? Sustainable Bristol Bay Sockeye Salmon are some of the highest quality and most delicious filets you can find! Fishermen carefully handle each fish caught with a gillnet and deliver it to a processor so that ruby red salmon can make its way to your plate. The Bristol Bay commercial salmon fishery is made up of 1,800 permit holders who hail from 37 states across the United States. Each boat represents a private, independent business, and each boat employs an additional 3-4 crew members. Our local attendees might even know a few of these fleet members as many Bellinghamsters head north to participate in this Alaska fishery!
