Meet Your Fisherman - Captain Bill

Captain Bill is responsible for the delicious side-stripe shrimp that you've been enjoying from Icy Fresh Seafood and purchasing from his daughter, Heather, and wife, Cindy, while he's currently busy in the chilly waters of SE Alaska.

Bill grew up in Wrangell, Alaska. He put himself through college cooking on a beam trawl. After graduating college with an electrical engineering degree, Bill entered the corporate world. His exit was during the 2009 economic downturn. A family friend was selling the F/V Taku and the tendering contract, and Bill jumped at the opportunity to return to his roots. Today, Captain Bill owns and operates the F/V Martina out of Wrangell to beam trawl side stripes and tenders in the summer out of Petersburg, Alaska.

Being able to sell directly to the consumer is such an exciting venture! We have an amazing product that isn't well known, so being able to educate and connect personally to the customer has been such a great opportunity.
