The Community Net Project
Connecting communities through art and action
The Community Net Project by Bellingham SeaFeast brings together diverse communities in Whatcom, Skagit, Snohomish, and Jefferson Counties through creative activities that address plastic pollution and celebrate maritime heritage. By engaging participants in painting reclaimed buoys and weaving them into a traveling art installation, the project fosters environmental stewardship, educates about pollution, and promotes unity across local tribal nations, the fishing industry, and community members.
Combatting plastic pollution in Washington waterways: An education and outreach campaign
Over the next two years, Bellingham SeaFeast will implement an education and outreach campaign across four counties (Whatcom, Skagit, Snohomish & Jefferson Counties) in Washington to raise awareness and promote action around the critical issue of plastic pollution—especially from fishing gear—in our waterways.
