What our partners are saying
“The KISS program has brought a new sense of excitement around Dockside for shoppers, vendors, chefs and media alike. There has been a new wave of interest to learn about cooking and preparation techniques which has helped drive sales for the vendors. The last KISS event, Browned Butter Scallops Over Creamy Polenta, increased our scallop sales by 40% from the market prior and highlighted our business in the Cascadia Daily News. As a vendor, I feel the exposure from the KISS program is invaluable. It is enticing consumers to learn more about where their food comes from and how it gets to their plates. KISS is bringing a new found curiosity to the Dockside market and I'm genuinely excited to see how it continues to grow Bellingham's interest in seafood.“
—Chelsea Keutmann , Sea to Shore Seafood Co. (Bellingham Dockside Vendor)
“We are so grateful for the partnership we have with Bellingham SeaFeast and their work in organizing the KISS program. “KISS” has not only brought new energy to the market, it has also increased the number of customers attending. Each month we have seen an increase in attendance as the word continues to spread about this program. Customers are eager to learn more about how to prepare seafood, and KISS offers them a chance to watch and learn while shopping for seafood directly from the fishermen who caught it. It’s a win-win for our market.”
— Cari Chan, Bellingham Dockside Market Coordinator
“[SeaFeast was] over double our busiest day. All in all a smashing success.”
—Bradley Lockhart, NW Corner Goods (Bellingham SeaFeast sponsor & vendor)
An estimated [waste] diversion rate of 85%! That is one of the best diversion rates from events we’ve worked with this summer. Great job and let’s do an even better job next year!”
—Jenna Deane, Sustainable Connections
“Working with Kevin and Bellingham SeaFeast has been a creative and culinary delight! Kevin is creative and organized and goes above and beyond with events and connections. Through our month-long collaboration, we introduced local fisheries and Bellingham Dockside to the community through a fun and interactive cooking demonstration, and we utilized all of the materials for social media outreach. The entire partnership was well executed and we cannot wait to work with Kevin and Bellingham SeaFeast again.”
— Samantha Ferraro, The Little Ferraro Kitchen
