Skill of the Grill
Skill of the Grill is back! In partnership with the Bristol Bay Regional Seafood Development Association and supported by Tom Douglas’ Rub with Love, our salmon grilling competition will take place on Sunday, September 22nd at noon on the Go Fish stage (near the commercial working area along SeaFeast Wharf).

Three judges who know their seafood and have plenty of opinion to offer a crowd of chefs!
Mayor Kelly Linville, Mayor of Bellingham, Washington
Evelyn Clark, Miss Washington, USA and Bristol Bay fisherman
Phil Erickson, Bristol Bay fisherman and Legacy & Soul Award 2019 recipient
With emcee Alana Kansaku-Sarmiento, Bristol Bay fisherman, Portland, OR
Guided by a Bristol Bay Fisher-Emcee, attendees will watch as celebrated and experienced chefs grill Bristol Bay Sockeye pin-boned fillets to perfection. Chefs will explain their processes and tips as they cook. Local, Bellebrity judges will get the first taste, marking a score for each chef. Then, it’s your turn! Bring $2 for each sample you’d like to taste.
The Go Fish Stage is on the commercial loading dock along SeaFeast Wharf in Squalicum Harbor and is home to all our seafood demos on Sunday, September 22nd. Look for the bleachers! In case of foul-weather, this event will be moved to Squalicum Boathouse (2600 N Harbor Loop Drive).
