Beach Clean-Up at Cherry Point in Ferndale
Join us for a beach cleanup at Cherry Point Beach in Ferndale (4601 Gulf Road) on Sunday, July 6! We’ll meet at 11am and spend the morning caring for our shoreline and protecting local marine life. This free, family-friendly event is a great way to enjoy the outdoors while giving back to our beautiful Salish Sea. All cleanup supplies are provided—just bring your enthusiasm and wear closed-toe shoes. Pre-registration is required.

Knot Tying with SeaFeast at Bellingham Pride
Join us at Allied Arts on Sunday, July 13 from 1 to 3 p.m. for a hands-on Knot Tying Demo as part of Bellingham Pride weekend. Stop by to learn how to tie a variety of practical knots commonly used in maritime activities, from securing lines on a boat to creating strong, reliable loops. This interactive demo is great for all ages and skill levels, whether you're a seasoned sailor or just curious about the craft. Celebrate Pride with a nod to our working waterfront and pick up a new skill along the way.

Squalicum Harbor Block Party
Bellingham SeaFeast is excited to be part of the very first Squalicum Harbor Block Party on Wednesday, July 23 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., hosted by our friends at LFS Marine & Outdoor and featuring many amazing Squalicum Harbor businesses!
Enjoy free hot dogs and refreshments, music, games, and the launch of LFS’s huge summer sale—plus, grab a passport stamp book and explore the harbor for your chance to win some great prizes.

Paint a Buoy with SeaFeast at First Fridays
Join us for a fun and creative evening at our Paint a Buoy event in front of Allied Arts in Downtown Bellingham on Thursday, July 3 from 6 to 8 p.m. This special edition of First Fridays is taking place on Thursday due to the Fourth of July holiday, and we’re excited to be part of the festivities. Stop by to paint your own buoy, which will become part of our Community Net Project, a collaborative art installation to bring awareness to plastic pollution and celebrate maritime heritage will be featured during Bellingham SeaFeast on September 27 & 28, 2025. All supplies are provided, and the event is free and open to all ages. Come add your creativity to the net and help us celebrate our vibrant waterfront community.

Birch Bay Kid's Kite Festival
We’re proud to partner with the Birch Bay Chamber of Commerce for the return of the Kid’s Kite Festival at Birch Bay State Park! Join us June 21–22, 2025, for a joyful weekend of kite flying, creativity, and coastal discovery — all set against the breathtaking backdrop of Birch Bay’s shoreline. This free, family-friendly festival is all about celebrating childhood wonder, outdoor fun, and the beauty of our natural spaces.

Salmon Sandwiches KISS Demo with Salmon Woman
Join us for a KISS Cooking Demo with Salmon Woman’s Salmon Sandwiches this Saturday, June 21 at 12pm at Fisherman’s Pavilion.
Celebrate local seafood as Salmon Woman shows us how to make her signature sandwiches using wild-caught canned salmon from the Salish Sea—coho, sockeye & king, in original and jalapeño.

Leo's Legacy Party
We’re proud to support a celebration that’s all about community, flavor, and local legacy! Join us at the Leo’s Legacy Party—a vibrant block party happening right in the Hotel Leo parking lot on Saturday, June 14, from 3–6PM. Join us for a Paint & Sip event on Monday, May 19, from 6:30-9:30pm at Springhill Suites and learn about invasive species like the European Green Crab. This unique night out combines art, local flavor, and northwest vibes! Each guest will receive a crab shell to transform into ocean-inspired art with step-by-step guidance from local artist and SeaFeast Executive Director, Kevin Coleman.
And yes, there will be wine and seafood nibbles! Wine, art, and good company. Talk about leveling up your Monday!

You Belong on the Water

Smoked Salmon Spread KISS Cooking Demo with Kevin Coleman
Join us for our January KISS Cooking Demo presented by BECU at Fisherman's Pavilion on Saturday, January 18 at 12pm. Kevin Coleman, Bellingham SeaFeast's Executive Director, will be showing us how he mixes up a deliciously easy smoked salmon spread that's perfect as a game day snack or add a little extra garnish for a fancy appetizer.

SeaFeast Salmon Run 5k
Dive into the fun and join us for a FREE Salmon Run 5K on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at 9am. Head down to Bellingham Bay for a loop around the harbor that’s sure to make waves. Sponsored by Bellingham SeaFeast and Summit Sports Chiropractic, this isn't just a run—it's a celebration of our vibrant waterfront during Bellingham SeaFeast! Whether you’re a seasoned runner, a casual jogger, or just looking for a unique way to enjoy the bay, the Salmon Run 5K offers something for everyone. Costumes are highly encouraged, so don your best maritime-inspired attire. At the finish line, you can join in the fun at Bellingham SeaFeast and fill up on some delicious seafood. Fish Tales & Ales: A Fisher Poet Storytime
Join us for more SeaFeastivities at Ponderosa Beer & Books after the festival on Saturday, Oct 5 starting at 6pm for a story hour featuring fisher poets from around the region. Hear heartfelt, powerful stories of life in the fish lanes, songs, and poems that capture the essence and beauty of the rugged Alaskan fishing grounds.This event is free.
